What the checker looks at

  1. The wording

    Links and buttons whose text matches the wording for your country or the official EU wording, including accents and letter case variants.

  2. The position

    Whether the link is in the page footer, where visitors expect it on every page.

  3. The access

    Whether the link needs a login, opens an email program or exists only as hidden or plain text.

Questions about the checker

Does a good result mean my shop is compliant?

No. The checker describes what it saw on one page. The rules also cover the withdrawal form and the confirmation email. Clawzia is a technical tool and does not provide legal advice.

Why does it say "pending legal verification"?

We only mark a country label as verified after a legal review of the official text. Until then we show the wording as information and keep the country under monitoring.

My button is added by JavaScript. Will the checker see it?

Maybe not: the checker reads the HTML the server sends. When the page looks script-heavy, the result says so, and a deeper check with a browser can run where it is available.
