Installation guide

Install the withdrawal button on WooCommerce

The Clawzia plugin for WordPress adds the withdrawal function to every page of your shop and can add withdrawal links to My account and to order emails. You can also paste the code by hand.

Before you start

  1. Create your shop in Clawzia

Sign up with your email address, create the shop, choose its country and default language and enter the email address that receives withdrawal notifications.

  2. Allow your shop’s domains

Add every domain your shop runs on to the allowed domains, for example with and without www and the platform address of your shop. On other domains the widget only shows a link to the hosted form, with the EU directive’s wording in English.

  3. Copy your code

Copy the code from the Install page of your dashboard (for the plugins, only the public key, which starts with pk_). The public key is not a secret.

With the Clawzia pluginRecommended

The plugin is coming to the WordPress.org plugin directory. Until it is listed there, ask us for the plugin file (a ZIP file) and upload it as shown below.
  1. Upload and activate the plugin

Upload the ZIP file and activate the plugin. Once it is listed on WordPress.org, you can search for “Clawzia Withdrawal Button” under Add New Plugin instead.

Where: Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin → choose the file → Install Now → Activate Plugin

Screenshot follows: Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.

  2. Enter your public key

Paste the public key from your Clawzia dashboard and save.

Where: Settings → Clawzia → Public key → Save Changes

Screenshot follows: Settings → Clawzia with the public key field.

  3. Verify the installation

The status box shows your shop, its country, the text of the link and whether the wording is verified. It also checks that the widget file can be downloaded.

Where: Settings → Clawzia → Verify installation

Screenshot follows: The status box after a successful verification.

  4. Choose the WooCommerce links

Optionally, the plugin adds a withdrawal link next to each order in My account (on by default) and a line with the link in customer order emails (off by default).

Where: Settings → Clawzia → WooCommerce

Good to know

  • The plugin needs WordPress 6.3 or later and PHP 7.4 or later; WooCommerce is optional.
  • It prints the noscript link for visitors without JavaScript with the wording from our registry and passes the page language to the widget, also on WPML and Polylang sites.
  • Exclude widget.js from JavaScript combining, minifying and “delay JavaScript” features of optimisation plugins.

Without the pluginAlternative

  1. Paste the code into your theme

Paste the code from your dashboard just before the closing </body> tag, in the footer.php of a child theme, or use a “header and footer code” plugin set to the footer of all pages.

    Install code (example)
    <script src="https://clawzia.com/widget.js" data-shop="pk_YOUR_SHOP_KEY" defer></script>
    <noscript><a href="https://clawzia.com/w/k/pk_YOUR_SHOP_KEY">[withdrawal wording from your dashboard]</a></noscript>

Your personal code with your shop key is in the dashboard after sign-up. The second line (noscript) links visitors without JavaScript to your hosted withdrawal form. Its link text is the legal wording for your shop’s country, which the dashboard or our plugins print for you: never type or translate it yourself. If the code in your dashboard has no noscript line, leave it out.

Good to know

  • The plugin is the better choice: it keeps the wording of the noscript link up to date and passes the page language.

Check the installation

  1. Open your shop in a private window

The withdrawal link appears at the end of your footer, or as a floating button, depending on the position you chose in the dashboard.

  2. Try it with the keyboard

Press Tab until the link is focused, then Enter: the two-step withdrawal form opens. Close it with Esc.

  3. Check that the code is there once

View the page source and search for data-shop="pk_. The script tag should appear exactly once per page.

  4. Send a test withdrawal

Send a withdrawal with your own email address and the order reference TEST. Check the confirmation email and its receipt link, then close the request in your dashboard.

  5. If the link does not appear

If your site sends a Content Security Policy, allow https://clawzia.com in script-src and connect-src. Exclude widget.js from script combining, minifying and “delay JavaScript” features of optimisation plugins and CDNs.
